OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:
Safety and Quality Audits
We conduct comprehensive audits on site(either on behalf of the client or of the contractors themselves) covering method statements, health and safety, equipment certification, Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), de-contamination units, company standard procedures, training and medicals, construction of enclosures.
Note: when it comes to auditing what we see is what we report on. Please be aware that even though it might not always be what you are expecting, our audits are always 100% honest, independent and completely impartial.
Management Surveys and Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys
Since May 2004, duty holders have been required to have accurate information on the location, amount and condition of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) in all non-domestic premises. Duty holders are required to prepare an asbestos register and have an asbestos management plan which specifies how their asbestos is to be managed.
A Management Survey is carried out to locate, as far as is reasonably practicable, the presence and extent and assess the condition of any suspected ACMs in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy.
A Refurbishment & Demolition Survey is needed when the building (or part of it) is to be upgraded, refurbished, renovated, repaired or demolished. This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the area where the work is planned. The surveyor uses aggressive inspection techniques to lift carpets and tiles, break through walls, ceiling, cladding and partitions and open up floors. The survey is fully intrusive and involves destructive inspection to access all areas. Reinstatement can be included as required.
Our surveys are clear, easy to understand and provided in both paper and electronic formats.
Asbestos Sampling
Our qualified surveyors can take samples from suspected Asbestos Containing Materials, get them tested at a UKAS accredited laboratory and usually have the results back within 24-hours. Recommendations and further advice is available if needed.
Oversee Asbestos Removal Work
We can oversee asbestos removal works on behalf of a client from writing the initial specification and tendering process through to when the skip leaves the site, making sure that what you pay for is what you get. This involves liaising with the asbestos supervisor, checking the validity of the method statements, checking that the asbestos contractors are working to their method statements and company standard procedures, advising on the adequacy of enclosures, training, RPE and PPE.
Advice
We will provide straightforward advice to clients on how best to manage asbestos in domestic, commercial and industrial buildings. We advise non-licensed asbestos companies, construction companies, architects, project managers, CDM Co-ordinators and demolition contractors. Knowing the `tricks of the trade' helps us to protect our clients.
We also provide specialist, technical advice to licensed contractors on asbestos removal techniques and equipment to maximise fibre suppression through wet stripping, `The Red Box', method statements and non-standard working practices, risk assessments and enforcement action. We will also prepare you and review your documentation prior to your licence renewal interview.
Drug & Alcohol Screening
Substance misuse costs the UK economy an estimated L12billion every year in workplace accidents, claims for compensation, ill health, absenteeism and reduced productivity. As an employer, you are required to demonstrate your `Duty of Care' towards your employees and others who may be affected by your business operations. Working in the asbestos industry can lead to substance misuse prompted the extremely high risks involved, working in harsh, unforgiving conditions and unsociable hours. Random or systematic drug and alcohol testing is an easy and quick way of controlling drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace, can help protect your company, your employees and prove that you were carrying out due diligence.
Training
We can carry out Asbestos Awareness training on site providing itemised certificates.
